Here are some players that have some major sleeper appeal heading into Week 7! With the “Bye-pocalypse” or “Bye-maggedon” upon us with the Cowboys, Steelers, Vikings, Bills, Jaguars, and Chargers all out for Week 7, fantasy managers are likely scrambling to find some players to get through this crazy bye week. The Phinest has some options that might be able to help you do just that.
Ryan Tannehill vs KC
Kansas City has given up the 2nd most points to QBs, they’ll have to throw to stay in the game. I’d expect Tennessee to go with a more balanced attack, and they had some improvement in offense against the Bills. Tannehill is a solid starting option in a week where a lot of good QBs are on bye.
J.D. McKissic vs GB
McKissic has been a decent flex play this year, with his pass-catching ability helping him average 10.8 PPG. The Packers defense is middle of the road in terms of points given up to RBs, but the sheer volume McKissic will get should help him score well. If Gibson is out, it bumps up his value to a low-end RB1, but if he’s active he’s a good RB2
Sony Michel vs DET
Detroit gives up the 3rd most points to RBs which should be beneficial for Michel who’s averaged about 4 YPA on the season. He’s played second fiddle to Henderson so far, but the Rams could use more of him if they decide to take the starters out again, or in short-yardage situations.
Chuba Hubbard vs NYG
Hubbard has scored double digits in his last 2 matchups and now gets the 5th best matchup against the Giants. He’s done pretty well in CMC’s absence and is putting up similar numbers to Mike Davis last year. Play him as your RB2 with confidence, and as a great bye week replacement.
Rashod Bateman vs CIN
Bateman played in his first game on Sunday and scored 6.9 points. As Lamar gets more rapport with him he should do better, as he was a first-round pick for a reason. The Bengals are middle of the road against WRs, but Bateman might get some more looks his way if Andrews and Brown are covered.
Christian Kirk vs HOU
Kirk led the team in targets this past Sunday and now gets to face a weak Houston defense. Kirk also should be getting more attention with Houston’s #1 corner matched up against DHop. For this week, he’s a solid WR2/Flex play
Zach Ertz vs HOU
Ertz has had a pretty solid season despite splitting time with Dallas Goedert in Philly. He’s scored double digits in 3 of his last 4 games and now gets a fresh start in Arizona. Kyler Murray has never had a great TE, and now gets another redzone threat. His matchup is great, as Houston has allowed the 3rd most points to TEs.
Nick Folk vs NYJ
Folk is currently the K4 in ESPN leagues but is somehow only 60% owned. He’s got a great matchup this week against the Jets who allow the most points to kickers
Green Bay Defense vs ATL
The Packers have a solid matchup against the Falcons who’ve been struggling offensively all year.
